You know what? Even the greatest coaches, motivators and mentors get down days. Days when their confidence falls through the floor, when they temporarily cease believing in themselves. And do you know what else? That’s okay.
Everyone knows what happens if we keep shaking a soda bottle. The pressure inside builds up and up until it has no option but to explode. It’s a bit like that with people. Keep piling on the pressure and, eventually, something has to give.
Work/life balance isn’t about scraping a few hours with your family at the end of the day. That’s not balance. That’s being too knackered to enjoy your life away from the workplace.

So, I covered my Facebook profile pic with the French flag yesterday, but opted to do so temporarily – and only for a day. Why? Because yesterday was about solidarity, a nod, an ‘aho’ – we feel you, we support you, we acknowledge your pain and tragedy and send prayers.
