I’ve noticed something over and over again with solo business owners… the thing that makes them genuinely brilliant is often the thing they share the least.

More often than not, they lose sight of the very thing that gives them an edge because, to them, it feels so normal they barely notice it. It becomes so familiar, so instinctive, that they stop seeing it as the very thing people come to them for. It’s that classic “we don’t know what we know” moment. When something lives that close, it’s easy to assume everyone else can do it too.

When people talk about you, they don’t mention the neat, polished pieces you try to lead with. They mention the spark. The way you explain something that suddenly makes sense. The way your perspective opens a door they didn’t realise was stuck. The small, steady things you do without thinking that create the biggest shifts for other people.

If you’ve been feeling a bit beige or a bit stuck with your messaging, this is usually the simplest place to look.

What’s the bit of you people always comment on?

What do clients thank you for that you hardly notice you’re doing?

What comes so naturally to you that you forget it isn’t universal?

What strength have you been playing down because it doesn’t feel like “work”?

Those answers are rarely dramatic. They’re usually honest, long-standing truths that have been sitting right under your nose.

When you bring that part of you forward, everything sharpens:

Your messaging

Your confidence

Your magnetism

People finally understand what they’re stepping towards when you stop hiding this underrated, unsung part of your brilliance. That kind of clarity becomes a power-full magnet for new business, new clients and new recommendations.

If you’d like a sounding board to help you pin down the part you’ve been underplaying, reply and tell me what you think your best bit might be. I’ll happily nudge you in the right direction.
