One of the quickest ways business owners tie themselves in knots is by trying to be impressive. They chase clever angles, polished phrasing and content that looks the part. Somewhere in the process, they forget the one thing their audience actually needs from them: usefulness.
People don’t remember the shiny bits. They remember the things that help them think differently, solve a problem or breathe a little more easily. Usefulness cuts through noise in a way polish never can.
If you’ve been getting stuck, overthinking what to post or feeling pressure to “show up bigger”, try asking yourself something far simpler:
What would be genuinely useful for someone to know today?
It might be a reminder you’ve said a hundred times.
It might be something obvious to you, but brand new to someone else.
It might be a perspective shift that helps someone see their situation more clearly.
It might be a practical suggestion that saves them time or stress.
The funny thing is, the more useful you are, the more impressive you become, not because you’re trying to show off but because you’re giving people something that actually helps them.
That’s what sticks.
That’s what people come back for.
That’s what builds trust long before anyone buys a thing.
If you’re creating anything this week, start there. Usefulness first. Everything else is decoration.
